CBD packaging and labelling: what your products need to show
Good flowers or extracts are not enough on their own: packaging and labelling decide whether a CBD product can be sold safely and whether customers trust it. A compliant label carries at least the CBD content, the THC content, the origin of the hemp, the batch number and storage advice. Here is how to get packaging and labels right, and how white label products can simplify the job for wholesalers, suppliers and resellers.
Why packaging matters for CBD products
Packaging that draws customers in
Packaging shapes how customers see your products. Neat, compliant packaging catches the eye, makes your brand more credible and reassures buyers about what is inside. Deli Hemp Pro offers white label packaging solutions, so resellers can sell CBD products under their own visual identity. For loose flowers, our large doypack pouches are a simple starting point.
Packaging that keeps you within the rules
Compliant packaging carries all the required information, protects the product and tells the buyer clearly what it contains. With white label packaging, you can sell products that meet the standards under your own brand, in line with French and European rules.
What a CBD label must show
The essential information
On a CBD product sold in France, the label should show at least:
- the CBD content;
- the THC content, within the legal limit;
- the origin of the hemp;
- the batch number;
- storage advice.
Our white label products come with custom labels that follow these rules, which makes distribution easier for resellers.
Writing a compliant label
Use precise, transparent wording. State what the product is and what it contains, nothing more. Health claims have no place on a CBD label. Since 15 May 2026, France (through its food safety authority, the DGAL) has also banned foodstuffs containing CBD, as CBD is a Novel Food not authorised in the EU, so a label must never present a product as food.
Staying within the THC limit
Checking THC levels
In France, CBD products must comply with French law (delta-9-THC ≤ 0.3%). Checking the THC level is the first condition for selling legally. Our white label products are supplied with certificates of analysis, which makes compliance easier for wholesalers and resellers. Whatever you sell, from an outdoor flower such as AK47 outdoor to a hydroponic one such as Amnesia 2.0 hydroponic, the batch number on the label should match the one on its lab report.
Outside France, the status of flowers, resins and other hemp products varies and can be much stricter. In the UK, the status of hemp flower remains contested. Check the rules for resale in your country before ordering.
Good practice
Use certified hemp, check the THC level of every batch and keep production methods traceable. Combined with compliant white label packaging and labelling, that gives you legal products ready to sell under your own brand.
How a reliable supplier keeps you compliant
What to look for
A reliable CBD supplier provides certificates of analysis, clear labelling and compliant packaging. White label solutions then let wholesalers and resellers personalise their products without lowering quality or compliance.
Traceability from raw material to final pack
Traceability is crucial for wholesalers and resellers alike. We trace each batch from the raw material to the final packaging, including the white label products we prepare for our customers.
How to check a wholesaler's products before you buy
Before choosing a CBD wholesaler, check the certificates of analysis, the information on the packaging and the labels. Make sure the THC results are within the legal limit and that every document refers to the right batch. Those three checks take a few minutes and save a lot of trouble during an inspection.
Frequently asked questions
Does a CBD label need a batch number?
Yes. The batch number links the product on the shelf to its certificate of analysis. Without it, you cannot prove what the product contains.
Can I sell CBD products under my own brand?
Yes, through white label. The products come with certificates of analysis and can be packed and labelled with your own branding.
